In the summer of 2015, I was able to get into a location and shoot a teaser for a film I wrote. This is that teaser.
"A sassy nephew with a business degree and a big shot skater who has held the same skating title he's had since he was twelve inherit a skating rink. They also happen to hate each other."
In the summer of 2015, I read in the news that Bellevue Washington 'Skate King' was closing its doors for good. I jumped at the opportunity to shoot at this location and direct a teaser for a script I completed in 2003 ironically called 'The Skate King'. Because of the immediacy of the closure, I had no time to cast and we pretty much had to rush through a window of just 4 hours in the morning and late afternoon up until the skating rink shut down for good at the end of June 2015.
Special thanks to Mike Sorkness for letting us shoot in such a cool place at no charge. Special thanks to my friend Andrejs Lazdins for his drone work.
